1936年，鋼琴飛上天空：從興登堡號奏響的空中樂章｜人類史上第一架飛行鋼琴的故事

1936年，興登堡號（LZ‑129 Hindenburg）搭載了一架專為飛行打造的Blüthner輕量平台鋼琴，創下航空史上第一架「商用飛行器中搭載鋼琴」的紀錄。

這架鋼琴由 Julius Blüthner Pianofortefabrik 擔任製作，為符合飛船重量限制，琴體大面積運用鋁合金，搭配中空鋁管作為琴腳與背架。

全琴重量約162kg，比當時一般小型平台鋼琴(300kg)輕了接近一半。

外層以淡黃色豬皮覆蓋，設計由室內建築師Fritz August Breuhaus規劃，以呼應飛船的內裝風格，展現功能與美感兼備的協調設計。

在1936年Hindenburg橫渡大西洋的首航中，鋼琴家Franz Wagner在飛船的休息廳演奏蕭邦、李斯特、貝多芬與布拉姆斯等作品，演奏透過飛船的無線電系統向地面同步廣播，這是當時少數從客運飛行器現場直播地面的音樂事件之一，引起當時媒體高度關注。

鋼琴在1937年飛季之前已遭拆除，送回Blüthner工廠陳列，因此未隨1937年的「興登堡號空難」而遺失；但工廠在1943年遭受盟軍空襲，鋼琴也隨之毀於火災。

這就是世界上第一台遨遊天際的鋼琴故事，它就如短暫的夢，飛過雲層，回到地面，又悄悄地從歷史中消失。
